An Oasis in North Augusta
Did you know that you have an oasis waiting for you to enjoy in North Augusta?
The Good Shepherd clergy and staff recently had our planning retreat for our upcoming year. We were blessed to have been able to do our work at the near by Convent, The Order of St. Helena. St. Helena is just across the river from Good Shepherd, taking only about 15 minutes travel time. Turning down the driveway of the Convent, the simplistic beauty of the landscape puts one at ease instantly. The sisters of the Convent are loving and inviting making you to feel right at home. After our morning work was completed, we joined the sisters for noon day prayers held in a magnificently serene chapel. Much like the landscape it is simple and beautiful. After noon prayers we enjoyed a delicious meal and then continued our work together in a sunlit meeting room.
The Convent is a wonderful place to visit. If you would like to have a quiet place to sit, meditate and pray the convent is open to you. Additionally, St. Helena has different offerings for anyone interested; art shows, various retreats and the like. With our financial support, the Order of St. Helena is able to offer an oasis for anyone to experience. For more information see their website: Order of St. Helena.
