Thank You, Susan!

This Sunday we will thank Susan Christie for 25 years of service to Good Shepherd. Susan’s relationship with the Parish actually began when she was baptized by Fr. Worrell along with the Clarkson twins, Ted and Bill. We won’t say how long ago that was! Susan, along with Bartley Payne and Bill Clarkson (Ted was already a good boy then) became the holy terrors of Good Shepherd. All this is prophetic of what would be Susan’s greatest gift to the Parish Staff, her knowledge of parish facilities, connections, relations, etc.

Susan joined the Parish Staff in 1993 manning the office with Emmie McLarty and Tina Smith. She brought wonderful artistic and creative skills that have graced many a Shepherd’s Fold and other parish publications throughout the years. Kanuga Parish Weekends owe much of their success to Susan’s efforts and her deep love of Kanuga. Susan, along with her Christie clan, has hosted many a parish picnic so it is fitting that she takes her leave of staff responsibilities at this year’s Memorial Day Picnic.

You will continue to see Susan in the Parish Office for a few more weeks as we consider how to best staff the administrative team to serve Good Shepherd. Already she is enjoying more time with her grandchildren and we wish her well and Godspeed.
